Re: Explorer++ Help file

I believe I have a copy of this CHM file:
Explorer++ Help.chm
720,896 bytes
MD5: 3002c97555f0e0eb8737668995138b67
Sha1: 80b68356fbc8df3ce164647c60c0371cb4e813a4

I just need a good STABLE place to post it.
Any suggestions?

Right-click ELEVATED Explorer++ (w/ Reg file workaround)

I have always wondered why Explorer++ doesn't do Elevation. Where I work, we use Explorer++ to do file changes without changing file permissions in Windows 7. If you ever get this type of dialog: https://www.google.ca/search?q=you'll+need+to+provide+administrator+permission and click Continue , you'...

Re: Dual Pane View

Thank you David! You might have to tell people that you can't justify the time required to add this one feature because it might break the application with bugs. Just having tabs makes the idea of "Dual Pane View" difficult to visualize, never mind coding. Today, however, I did stumble on ...

Built-in CONTENT search

In XP, Search was "OK". -not as good as 2000 and 4.0 but it worked -had to be patient while it searched Zips and Cab files for no reason. -had to kill the annoying search puppy... In Windows 7, Searching is totally broken. -Right-click is disabled by default -Content search only works IF y...

Re: The Ability to browse .dll files

This is a bit beyond scope of a file management utility like Explorer++ Check out Mitec IconExplorer 4.2 http://mitec.cz/Downloads/IconExplorer.zip It's portable and free (that I know of) The only catch it that it will save Icons in separate resolutions (e.g. 48x48pixels) and not as a collection of ...

Re: A few suggestions...

An 'X' icon on each tab to close that individual tab
FYI: You can middle click on a tab to kill it (Just like FF)
Adding an 'X' icon would limit the number of tabs you can have and may confuse some people thinking the X is part of the tab's name.

Re: Dual Pane View

I don't use Explorer++ all the time but I always assume Side-by-Side display of 2 panes or tabs could be done. (A-la-Norton-Commander) With no recent update of Explorer++ and no resolution to a 2 year old feature request with THOUSANDS of views, one has to wonder: Is the author too busy with Real-Li...

Re: Replacing Windows Explorer with Explorer++

If you are on Windows Vista and up, make sure you run Explorer++ Elevated. (You'll see [administrator] in the Explorer++ windows title)
Otherwise you are running with the User security token.

@Flasher:
By changing the perms to C:\windows that way you've just made your installation more vulnerable.

Re: I hope explorer++ support teracopy

Why can't Explorer++ just handle trickled/throttled copy by itself?

and if not, explorer++ should still be able to support both teracopy and ultracopier.
but only hint to use ultracopier. Teracopy can use it's big $ to promote itself.

Re: Hidden Files/folders

I'm running into this, too.

for the hell, I checked my regular Explorer settings.
Once I unchecked "Hide protected system files (Recommended)" box and refreshed Explorer++ I could see them

I guess the C:\Windows\Installer folder is a file...
