Re: Different Views for Different Folders

Patriot Front, Yes, there might be a few glitches, but don't give up - just yet! First of all, if you are running 64-bit Windows, you must use the 64-bit version of Explorer++. That can be a source of troubles. Also, Explorer++ requires Windows XP or higher - not sure of the behaviour if you have so...

Re: Different Views for Different Folders

Patriot Front, Welcome aboard! The View setting is tab-wide , that is, new tabs can have different views, but the same view is applied to any location in a particular tab. If you have a small number of folders, you can open a new tab for each one, and change the view to suit. Make sure you set the o...

Re: XP User - 'selfish' request

David, Wow - don't you ever sleep? Or do you have an alarm rigged to your computer; someone posts a message and "rrrrrnnnnniiiiigggg"!! For a minute I thought you were on Canadian time... I had seen this a number of times in third party downloaded applications, and realized quite quickly t...

XP User - 'selfish' request

David, Microsoft has acknowledged a flaw/bug in the ListView control under all versions of XP when appying the LVS_EX_GRIDLINES style (ie. gridlines option). Scrolling, in many cases, gets scrambled, resulting in either missing lines or lines where none should be! I'm sure you've seen examples poste...

Re: two questions

roam, Q1: I can't duplicate the dragging behaviour in XP (SP3). I presume you are in Icons view or similar. But, I have found that the Windows Registry can cause a few issues if it gets "corrupted" - try starting Explorer++ from a command prompt (in the Explorer++ 'installation' folder) wi...

Re: List of keyboard shortcuts

To all,

I have scoured all possible sources and have prepared a list of shortcuts (ie. accelerator keys, etc.), but have not included them in the Help File as yet. It's on my radar in the very near future. Look for a new Appendix (B) within a week or so. Try downloading the text file following.

Re: Explorer++ does not show protected system files

recommend that you let the "Hide protected operating system files" option work independently from the OS setting I couldn't agree more! As I understand it, David (the programmer) changed the method of listing files/folders in a past version Explorer++ used FindFirstFile/FindNextFile to en...

Please see the current Help File (Help and Support Discussion - first topic). This is actually expected (but fixable) behaviour.

Re: Can the behavior of right pane click be changed?

when I click on the right pane it changes the contents of the pane to the previous directory First of all, I trust you are using v1.2 (the latest)? I don't mean to suggest otherwise, but the revision history for version 1.2 states " When Single-click to open an item was selected, navigation up...

Re: renaming files.

When I rename files, it readds a new extention :?: I'm not sure about that - it doesn't add anything on my system (XP SP3), BUT... renaming a file only selects the name portion of the file, NOT the (old) extension. You can alternate what is selected by pressing F2 (name -> extension -> both -> name...
