Good thread. Resolved my frustrations when Exp++ would not open like WinExp.
It appears string structure in Exp++ is slightly different to WinExp

I had the same problem, how to back up settings? Just found it (and works in 32bit) Explorer++ (window) > Menu-bar > Tools > Options General (tab) [x] Run in portable mode(save preferences to XML file) - close Exp++ - the XML file is in the EXE file folder - on my PC "C:\Programs2\Explorer++&qu...
