Hello all
I am trying to switch Explorer++ so that it is not the default file manager.
I open Explorer++, select Tools-Options and click Don't replace explorer.
I then receive a message
Error encountered while changing default file manager status. Please ensure
you have administrator privileges.
I do have administrator privileges.
On this forum I then found a suggestion to start the program with
D:\explorer++_1.3.5_x64\Explorer++.exe -remove_as_default
I received a message
Could not remove Explorer++ as default file manager. Please ensure
you have administrator privileges.
From another post on this forum I found the suggestion to use Regedit to set the values for Explorer++ to blank, but Regedit
showed these values were already blank.
I then rebooted and logged on as Administrator. This time I was able to switch Explorer++ to not being the default file manager, but when
I relogged in with my normal administrator account Explorer++ had reset to being the default file manager.
Can anyone advise me how to cancel this setting ?
TIA
Cannot 'unreplace' file manager
Re: Cannot 'unreplace' file manager
HI scbs29,
Have you solved the problem?
I'm facing the same problem right now, I've tried to Open Explorer++ as Administrator > set "Don't replace Explorer" > Apply > OK
But it doesn't work.

Re: Cannot 'unreplace' file manager
try this
Explorer++.exe -remove_as_default
in administrator cmd instance

Hello,
I don't think it's related to the command line or not, but rather because the correct argument is:
(path)\Explorer++.exe --remove-as-default
