Tree pane update

Post by yakovleff » Thu Sep 15, 2016 5:29 pm

Hello, David,

Great app which I use every day for work and at home! Your work is highly appreciated!

Please consider 2 features connected to tree pane update:
1. Clicking the tab should synchronize the same location in the tree pane; may be switched on/off via options.
2. Annoying one: The folders tree is not being updated with new folder names (added/renamed). So it's impossible to select newly renamed/added folder with tree pane.

Thanks for considering.
Yours
Anton

I am not sure what the problem is with suggestion number one. Selecting a tab will expand the tree, if necessary, to reveal the folder for that tab and it will be highlighted in the tree pane.

Number two is a real bugger though. Renaming a folder in the details pane is not mirrored in the tree pane and this folder in the with it's original name cannot be opened in the tree pane. This behavior does not occur in Windows Explorer. Explorer immediately updates the tree pane whenever changes are made in the details pane.

This is an example of how all the Explorer alternatives fail to preserve features of the Microsoft product which makes them unattractive alternatives despite their more advanced features. Don't expect this anomaly to be resolved with an update because the Explorer++ project appears to have been abandoned two years ago.
