7-Zip and WinRar

Post by little-ninja-man »

Hi, I know it has zip support but it would be cool if it had 7-zip and WinRar support as most people use them formats more than zip now.

7-zip support might be integrated one day, but I believe the WinRar algorithms are proprietary.

I also think so, as the most programs (7Zip, IZarc) can only unpack rar files. ;)

If you install 7-Zip, you have all you need right there in the content menu (and it handles zip, etc as well). There is no need for Explorer++ to reinvent that wheel.

If u didnt notice... there is a free dll download for developers on http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm
UnRAR.dll - UnRAR dynamic library for Windows software developers.

Dont know if u can use it... but it was just to show that rar is a possibility for some

Yeah. Actually I'd like this too. Because two filemanagers and an external context menu is way too much.
If it was integrated we could launch an archive, that opens a special tab that works like a regular folder!
