Search enters endless loop

Post by tws54 »

Using Windows Vista Home Premium.
Explorer++ 1.3.5 (also happens in 1.3.4)
When doing wildcard search on C: drive including sub-folders for all pdf files (.i.e. *.pdf) Explorer++ search enters an endless loop
when the search starts searching the C:\users\{username}\desktop folder.
Further investigation reveals this will happen with a search when the search string contains any filename in the desktop folder whether using a wild card or not.

Another problem is that when selecting to search the whole "Computer" the directory box is filled with "::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}" and th search instantly returns 0 results.
Perhaps while fixing these bugs one could add the capabilities of selecting multiple drives or paths to search. I so much hated it when Microsoft removed the "Find" tool that would do this in Windows XP.
All so adding search by date/time and size would be very helpful.
Thanks

Exactly the same problemn in Windows 7 64
search whole computer results in ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} in the 'path' box.

How does one search the whole computer??
