Crash, 1.3.5, right-click in empty area of file list window

Post by abqbill »

Windows version: Windows 7 x64

Explorer++ version: 1.3.5.531

Bug apparent in earlier versions: Haven't tested

Steps to reproduce crash:
  1. Launch Explorer++ not elevated
  2. Right-click in empty part of file listing area
Note that bug does not occur when running Explorer++ elevated. Will send .dmp file in email.

I also tried the -enable_logging parameter on the explorer++.exe command line but the explorer++.log file is empty.

Thanks!

To whom it may concern,

I can confirm this behaviour ...

I also tried debugging / logging information for submission, but to no avail.

Best regards,

Exactly the same for me, but using the elevated mode doesn't eliminate the crash.

Windows 7, 64 bit

Explorer++ version 1.3.5.531 (64-bit Unicode build)

Windows 10.0 b14393 Pro 64-bit, RAM: 16384MB, Full updates as of 2016-09/30

I didn't investigate this too closely yet as I just installed this for the first time ever, nor did I filter through the forum with my fine tooth comb, but it crashes because it is accessing a privilege that the thread does not have permission for and dose not have an event handler in the code for it; it appears this should be in the code and probably should be configured during installation. A quick fix is to just launch Explorer++ with the "Run As Administrator" setting, that will work for now until I, the dummy, or someone else would be kind enough to point out the errors of our ignorance.
