[1.00] Wrong alphabetic sort

Post by ArnaudN »

Hi,

It seems that the alphabetic sort does not work as expected.
Typically, I get following file list (extract):

XFiles S2E02 - L'Hote.avi
XFiles S2E03 - Mauvais Sang.avi
XFiles S2E04 - Insomnies.avi
XFiles S2E07 - Les Vampires.avi
XFiles S2E08 - Coma.avi
XFiles S2E0506 - Duane Barry 1&2.avi

"XFiles S2E0506 - Duane Barry 1&2.avi" should stand between "XFiles S2E04 - Insomnies.avi" and "XFiles S2E07 - Les Vampires.avi", right ?

Another remark concerning the autosize column: would it be possible a have it on a button in a toolbar, or connect a hotkey, because opening a menu for it is not really intuitive (BTW, automatic autosize would also be great...)

Thx in advance

Hi,

This does not behave for me either, but only in the "Folders" window and only for mapped drives.

Thank you.

Hi Arnaud,

Sorry for the long reply time.
"XFiles S2E0506 - Duane Barry 1&2.avi" should stand between "XFiles S2E04 - Insomnies.avi" and "XFiles S2E07 - Les Vampires.avi", right ?
No, because 506 is greater than 6 and 4. If you rename the file to "XFiles S2E05 - Duane Barry 1&2.avi", then the file will be inserted between the other two files you mentioned. This is the same behaviour as displayed in Windows Explorer.
Another remark concerning the autosize column: would it be possible a have it on a button in a toolbar, or connect a hotkey
Ctrl+Shift++ should work.

David is right, it works the same way in Windows Explorer, you would have to change S2E04 and S2E07 to S2E0400 and S2E0700 for S2E0506 to appear between them.

OK. I was just strictly thinking to the alphabetic sort, and not to the fact that it could correspond to a number.
Thanks for your comments
