Infinite loop if you select a folder you don't have access to

Post by freezer75 »

If you click on a folder you don't have access to such as "System Volume Information" (or sometimes an empty CD/DVD drive will work) then Explorer++ gets caught in an infinite loop. It displays an error message about being unable to enter the folder (which is correct), but you can't clear the dialog because Explorer++ keeps redisplaying the dialog. You have to kill the process (sometimes Windows will kill it automatically).

This only happens if you click on the folder in the tree view. If you click/doubleclick on the folder in the right pane then Explorer++ does not get caught in an infinite loop. I has to be the left tree view.

I'm running Windows 10 21H2 x64
Explorer++ version 1.4.0.1908 x64

Thanks for Explorer++, I love it!

Thanks, I've fixed this and the fix will be in a development build in the near future.
