Is Windows indexing service required?

Hello!

Is the Windows indexing service required to use Explorer++? I have had to stop using Libraries and completely disable the indexing service in order to use composer to manage developing my several websites on this machine. Actually, I'm searching for a library replacement that doesn't need indexing.
