Since windows 11, the shell folders (Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Photos, etc, etc.) simply do not show up in 'This PC' like they always used to.
Before i used to use tweakers to strip away all the 'Removable Drives, 'Quick Access', 'Libraries', etc, etc, etc and just have Network, This PC and the folders on my desktop showing... With all my drive letters and the Desktop and Downloads folders only under This PC... Now this just doesn't work.
M$ changed some shell things in Windows 11 i guess.
Thanks!
Shell Folders don't display in 'This PC' any more (W11)

Yes, it looks like this is something Microsoft have changed. I might look into adding some additional options to control whats shown in the treeview in the future.

That would be awesome.
The existing "Show All Folders" all or nothing option dumps so much unwanted stuff in the tree.
Oh, Recycle Bin is also awol too. Doh.
Thanks David!

Did you get a chance to look into these options, possibly?David Erceg wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 9:17 am Yes, it looks like this is something Microsoft have changed. I might look into adding some additional options to control whats shown in the treeview in the future.

Two things...
Going to my bookmarked Download folder navigates to the downloads folder in my user folder, in the users folder, in the c: drive... so in the middle of everything... So lots and lots of crap spread out in the nav pane.
Before, when the Downloads folder was under This PC, it was nice and neat, nothing expanded other than My PC and the Downloads folder under it.
Getting this behaviour back would be very, very useful!
And could E++ just look at all the things that Windows think should be in the Nav pane and then allow us to hide items in the prefs?
So we could just choose to show everything, and then hide the stuff we don't want?
